The thing that is to me most appealing about a ‘trans-California’ trail is the amazing variety of landscapes one would walk through. Yes, the ‘crest’ is great but, intentionally, it tends to stay in one kind of landscape – high country. A trail across California would expose walkers to the diversity of landscape which makes California unique.
